Our principal activities are online publishing, eMarketing, eCommerce, and business-to-business promotion within the pharmaceutical sector.
Personal information we collect
Through this Web site you can subscribe to our periodic enewsletter, Pharma Marketing News, and join the Pharma Marketing Network Discussion Forums (see Forum). To subscribe to these services, you are required to give us personal information, which may include your name, job title, company name, e-mail address, and country of residence.
As part of the subscription process we also ask you to voluntarily supply us with additional information, including your business address, phone and fax numbers. You can decline to supply us this additional information and it will not affect your ability to use any of the services we provide via the Web site or via email.
In order to post comments to some Pharma Marketing Newtork Forums and to use the full features of these forums, you may be required to sign up as a "member." The only information required is a username, which can be an alias, and a real, functioning email address, which is used to confirm that you are a real person and have authorized the membership.
As a member of the Forums, you are able to post other personal information about yourself (ie, in the content you post, in your signature, and in the public profile that you set up). You should be aware that this information is publicly available.
Occasionally, we ask newsletter subscribers and Forum members to respond to surveys, where we may collect additional information. Your participation in these surveys is voluntary.
IP Addresses and Web log
When you browse our Web site, you do so anonymously. While your IP address (an address automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Web) may be recorded as part of this site's Web log, your IP address is not linked with other personally-identifiable information if you are just browsing the site and freely accessing available content.
The log also records the web pages you visit and the time of visit. The only other information automatically provided to us is the type of computer and operating system you are using. Your browser supplies us with this information.
How we use personal information
When you subscribe to Pharma Marketing News, we use your name, job title, company name, and email address to certify that you are a qualified pharmaceutical marketing professional or student and to allow us to send you the information and services you requested via email. We also send you a request by email that you verify your intent to be a subscriber (double opt-in).
We use aggregate job title and country of residence data to describe generally the makeup of the subscriber base to our advertisers. We also use this information for market analysis.
Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers online will only receive telephone contact from us when necessary to discuss service orders they have placed online or regarding matters related to their subscription status.
When you sign up as a member of the Pharma Marketing Network Forums, we use your email address to verify that you are a real person and request that you verify your intent to be a member (double opt-in).
As a Pharma Marketing News subscriber, we use your name, email address, and email content format preference (HTML, text) to send you email messages, which include the monthly enewsletter, a biweekly Conference Calendar Update, and relevant messages from our advertisers about job openings, conferences, products and services, etc. (see Advertising Information).
If you opt in to join the online discussion forums (Pharma Marketing Network Forums), you will select a username and password that allows you to post messages to all forums and gives you access to your online public profile, which allows you to limit who can view your personal information. Your email address is NOT visibe to any one who may read posts you make to the forum or who views you public profile unless you provide that information in your posts, signature, or public profile.
We require your email address so that we can verify you are a real person and make sure that you opt-in again to become a member. This protects you from fraudulent use of your email address.
Your email address will also be used by the Forum Administrator to notify you ocassinally about special content on the Forums site (eg, surveys that you are invited to respond to). You may also receive occasional commercial messages (ads) via email if you register as a Forum member.
