The Coming Pharma Digital Depression

A 'recession' in pharma marketing is likely considering the well-known 'patent cliff' that's currently in progress; ie, blockbuster drugs with a combined $170 billion in annual sales will go off-patent by 2015. There's a lot of brouhaha these days in pharma circles about 'gamification' as if it were the newest thing since sliced bread. These days, however, it may be easier for a pharma company to create a real-life museum educational gaming experience than a virtual world game on Facebook. Way back in 1984, gamification was much simpler.

Sanofi Launches Diabetapedia: “Google” for Diabetes

Laura Kolodjeski (@lkolodjeski), Community Manager for Sanofi US Diabetes, sent me a Twitter DM announcing the launch of Diabetapedia (di-ah-bee-tah-pee-dee-ah), a new site 'to help meet educational needs of diabetes community.' According to Laura, the goal is to create 'a single, comprehensive place where anyone can find and share definitions of diabetes-related terms and phrases.' The site's tag line is 'Diabetes doesn't define you... so define diabetes.'
